Michael was born in Heidelberg in 1953. During his studies of social work at the Mannheim University, he dedicated every free minute to studying art. After completing his degree, he shifted his focus entirely to the fine arts. Since 1981, he has been living and working as a freelance visual artist (self-taught) in Heidelberg.
Initially, Michael worked in a classic photographic style, but over time, his approach evolved toward photographic abstraction. Today, his interest lies in creating images that transcend everyday experience, offering a sense of mystery and contemplation. He seeks to produce images that raise questions rather than provide answers, and whose appearance invites a meditative gaze rather than purely rational interpretation. Michael hopes his work will be understood through these aspects.
