Mohzen Zare/ Metamorphosis

Mohsen Zare, born in 1980 in Shiraz, is an Iranian contemporary artist and senior curator whose work intersects art, identity, and social issues. He holds a bachelor's degree in graphic design from Sooreh University in Tehran (2004).

As one of the founders and senior curator of Pirsook Art Space in Shiraz, Zare is actively engaged in promoting and supporting contemporary art within the local community. He has also collaborated as a curator on various artistic projects, including Art for All, in partnership with UNHCR. This exhibition is part of the ArtWorks Open 2023 award from the Barbican Art Group Trust. He is also a finalist for Screengrab7 in Australia and a shortlisted nominee for the Magic of Persia Contemporary Art Prize. His works are part of the permanent collections of prestigious museums such as LACMA and Livingstone Museum, and they are held at Bunker Art Space in Florida and in the art collection of Tony Kilduff in Dublin.



In recent years, Zare has held numerous solo and group exhibitions, including Four Gardens at Pirsook Art Space (2018) and Documents of War at the Silk Art Gallery (2016). His works have been featured in international exhibitions such as The Natural Eye 2023 and The Bastards in Los Angeles.
