Penny Phillips is a contemporary sculptor, artist and teacher based in York, she has worked in ceramics for over 25 years. Penny creates her pieces using a limited colour palette, of slips oxides and paint, to create depth, and strives to retain the raw nature of clay with heavily textured surfaces. Sculpting British wildlife has been her passion. Her work explores wildlife and the nature of species loss, conveying the beauty, fragility, and vulnerability of her subject matter.
