I was born in Incheon, South Korea and grew up in Seoul. I moved to the UK when I was 19 and I keep continuing my career in London. I studied film at the university, and I realised that people have different interpretation although they watch same films. In the seminar class, we watched Western genre film and peers were mentioning about its technique and narratives. But the first thing came up to my head was that film is racist in a way that they depict native American who actually deprived their rights and lands as a villain. That was the first moment that I got interested in the idea that capturing so many different perspectives on one object. Since then my work i s focused on exploring how to capture a gaze that people from different backgrounds could all agree on.
